Sweatshirt Drive

For the month of December, Interact teamed up with a local charity group, Mothers and Daughters Blessings, to collect sweatshirts for families living in Red Lake, MN. Many families there can’t afford to purchase clothing to stay warm in the winter. Interact members set up donation boxes and advertised the cause at Prior Lake High School, Hidden Oaks Middle School, Twin Oaks Middle School, Redtail Ridge Elementary, Jeffers Pond Elementary, Grainwood Elementary, WestWood Elementary, Five Hawks Elementary, Edgewood School/La Ola del Lago, Savage Public Library, Prior Lake Library, Kids’ Count Daycare, and Rocking Horse Ranch Daycare. In total we collected 605 sweatshirts and jackets, along with mittens, hats, and two other boxes of clothing. Thank you to all who donated!

Feed My Starving Children

On November 9th, Interact packed meals for Feed My Starving Children in Eagan. We had over 40 Interactors, parents, and chaperones participate and our session collectively packed 121 boxes. This was a great team bonding experience and we can't wait to come back to volunteer again!

Trunk-or-Treat

On Sunday, October 29th Interact hosted a Trunk-or-Treat event to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital treats children with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses regardless of the families’ ability to pay for treatment. This year, we collectively raised $615.66!

Interact Rescue-Roundup Event

For the month of March, the Interact Club decided to participate in an event called Rescue-Roundup, which was a pet adoption event. A non-profit pet care and adoption organization asked us if we would be willing to make centerpiece displaying some of the potential dogs and cats that were available to be adopted. The Interact club agreed and dedicated a day in March to create these centerpieces.

With lots of teamwork and dedication, we were able to create quite a few visually appealing and suitable centerpieces for this event.

Thanks you to all who participated and came to this event it was much appreciated and needed!

Feed My Starving Children

For the month of February, the Interact Club participated in Feed My Starving Children. The club not only got its members to be involved, but many brought friends and family along as well to help. For those who aren't familiar with Feed My Starving Children, it is a Christian non-profit organization that coordinated the packaging and distribution of food to people, in developing nations. Founded in  1987, it has reached out to more than 70 countries.

Big thanks to everyone who helped out and was efficient and helpful tonight, it was much appreciated by everyone!

New Member Induction Event

In the month of January Rotary Advisors and Board Members decided to dedicate a specific night to a New Member Induction, where first time members of the club were recognized, rewarded, and able to meet and learn more about the Interact club and its mission locally, nationally, and globally.

We were all able to enjoy good food and company, conversing about new ideas of projects, being able to share a common goal of serving our community. The Interact Rotary was able to bring in a speaker from ShelterBox, an international disaster relief charity that delivers emergency shelter, dignity, and warmth to people affected by disaster worldwide, in order for people to get an idea of some of the upcoming projects our club would be involved with. The speaker brought in an actual ShelterBox and allowed some of our club members to get engaged and take a look at what they provide.

Thank you to all who came that night, it was much appreciated, and I hope you enjoyed and got a better understanding of what the Interact club is about.
